  • He took part in the Partition of Bengal movement, Non-cooperation movement and the Civil Disobedience Movement.
  • He was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly and the Constituent Assembly in 1937 and 1945.
  • He translated Gandhiji’s autobiography, ‘The Story Of My Experiments with Truth’ into Assamese (Mor Satya Aneshwanar Kahini)
  • তেওঁ লোক নায়ক (জননেতা) নামেৰে জনাজাত আছিল।
